Michael Holding

On Thursday 11th June, Champions (UK) plc were honoured to welcome guests to a very special evening to raise valuable funds for its chosen charity, the Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. Hosted by the former England cricketer, Geoff Miller OBE, the fundraising dinner was held at Leicester’s King Power Stadium.

The evening was a tribute to the West Indies fast bowling legend, Michael Holding. He took to the stage to entertain the audience with fascinating anecdotes from his experiences as an integral member of the bowling attack in the 1970s and 80s. He was accompanied by another special guest, Gordon Greenidge MBE, a fellow member of the West Indies team.

Guests included cricketer Matthew Hoggard MBE and celebrity DIY expert Craig Phillips, as well as leading brands from the Leicestershire area, Heat Holders and Lumbers. Guests and sponsors gave generously to Rainbows, which is the only dedicated children’s hospice in the East Midlands.
