Eddie Edwards - Hart's Fine Dining Event
Hart’s restaurant, Nottingham, played host to a special evening with British ski legend, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards. With his amazing story of triumph in the face of adversity, Eddie captivated audiences by becoming the first competitor to represent Great Britain in ski jumping in 59 years when he competed in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
Throughout the evening, guests were engaged by Eddie’s warm and charismatic persona and were gripped as he described how he tenaciously pursued his Olympic dream despite obstacles such as a lack of funding and equipment.
To start things off, guests were welcomed with a Champagne reception and the opportunity to mingle. This was followed by a delicious three course meal that was freshly prepared at Hart’s using the finest ingredients.
To ensure the evening flowed along nicely, seasoned host, Pat Murphy, facilitated proceedings. Pat is best known for his critically acclaimed sports writing and BBC broadcasting, and during the evening he probed Eddie to ensure none of the detail of his amazing life story was missed as well as encouraged audience questions.
Along with hearing from Eddie, guests were also treated to a live performance from solo vocalist, Natasha. A singing sensation, Natasha wowed guests with her take on a mix of contemporary tracks.
The evening was attended by representatives and the guests of event organisers, Champions (UK) plc, Barclays, Blusource, Innes England, Mazars, Hart’s, Gleeds, Nottingham Post, JLT, Maverick, Smith Partnership and Breedon Electrical Services Ltd.
