Janine Edwards - Driving growth, achieving success.

When we think of the world of investment banking and wealth management, traditionally we would have conjured up the image of a city gent operating in what was very much a man’s world. 

While it is true to say that finance has historically been dominated by men, challenging this view and succeeding, is wealth management expert, Janine Edwards. 

Now a Principal Practice of St. James’s Wealth Management, Janine’s career in the world of finance began when she was just 21 years old and was made one of Lloyds TSB’s youngest ever managers, running her own branch in Market Deeping, Peterborough. 

Fast-forward 30 years and Janine is at the top of her game and celebrating three decades in the financial services sector. 

Building upon the solid foundation her time within the High-Street banking sector gave her, Janine’s career has evolved and she has spent the last 17 years with St. James’s Wealth Management, a leading wealth management firm that works with clients from a wide range of sectors including SME’s and global firms. 

As Janine points out, the wealth management sector is one in which she was destined to thrive: “I had a good grounding in banking,
but I always preferred seeing clients face to face and joined
St. James’s Place because I saw it as an opportunity to give clients much better advice, offer a distinctive investment management approach and a more holistic wealth management service.” 

She continued: “When St. James’s Place approached me, I knew their reputation was formidable and that they were something special
and different.”

Now a Principal Practice within the firm, one of the few females to reach this status, Janine has built up an enviable reputation for offering the highest standards of service. Building relationships with her clients that are based on trust and proven expertise, Janine’s business has been built mostly on word of mouth, with existing clients recommending her services; a ringing endorsement for any business. 

Backed by her growing team (two new advisors are set to join soon covering Birmingham and Warwickshire), Janine has built a business that offers client focussed advice and specialist knowledge around all areas of wealth management, including matters such as regulatory compliance, investment planning and financial planning for the future.

Working with private clients and business owners, to accommodate her ever-expanding business, 2017 sees Janine relocate offices, moving from her Balsall Common base which has been home to the business for 17 years, to a new space in Berkswell, West Midlands.

Along with a desire for more space, the move was also driven by Janine’s unwavering commitment to offering outstanding client care as she explains:

“Our back-office team is essential to the seamless service we offer clients and over the years the team has grown and we wanted them to have the opportunity to build a more efficient working space, including installing completely new IT systems to help with the speed of paperwork.”

While driven by current needs, the move also gives Janine and team the opportunity to grow in the future. Around eight times larger than the former offices, along with a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing reception space, it offers three meeting rooms as well as an informal gathering space.

Also available is a seminar room where the team host client/ contact seminars which is also offered to clients and contacts for their own use.

Situated amid beautiful countryside, the office move marks a new chapter for the business, something Janine is looking forward to: “This new space opens up many new opportunities for growth and I am looking forward to sharing the space with clients new and existing as we welcome them at our new location.”
